A Peek Into Paranormal Romance
So, you’ve been bitten by the ‘Twilight’ bug? Join the club! I too have fallen head over heels in love with this romance book. According to me, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan’s love story is different, not because he’s an altruistic vampire and she, a fragile human, but because the entire story is very believable and placed in a setting where you and I could possibly exist. It could actually make you speculate if the person sitting beside you is a vampire too! Other paranormal romance stories never fail to intrigue me, but with “Twilight”, it was love at first bite! (I mean love at first sight!)
Werewolves, shape shifters, half-breeds, zombies, and other members of the living ‘undead’ feature in paranormal romances. And yes, you can always expect some gruesome accounts of their ways of living. Most often, paranormal romances focus on or revolve around a primary character around which these mythical creatures exist. What follows is a suspenseful plotline relating to trials and tribulations faced by them. If the “Twilight Series” by Stephenie Meyer appealed to you, and you’re now on the ‘prowl’ for more such paranormal romance novels, then here are a few suggestions from my side. The “Breed Next Door” by Lora Leigh is a gripping romance between a woman and a shape-shifting lion breed. What follows is a story filled with their hungry passion for one another. If it’s the werewolf’s howl that haunts you, then I must say “Elizabeth’s Wolf” again by Lora Leigh, is a real page-turner. It’s also filled with little tidbits about the life of these semi-canine creatures.

Abstract Realism ~ a True Story $15.05 Abstract Realism is a book of true paranormal, telepathic, telekinetic, psychic and other-worldly experiences. The experiences are all mine and all true. I have compiled many strange and sometimes frightening experiences into this book as well as some of my art, photographs, poetry, & social ideologies. I”ve titled this book Abstract Realism because the truth is stranger than fiction and although true, these experiences are so incredible they seem as if they are fiction. I once had a an individual come into the store where I worked and telekinetically bend 2 candles. The book goes into detail about the 80 UFO craft that my friends and I saw over PCH in Malibu, CA. I orchestrated the meeting telepathically with my other worldly friends and sure enough they showed up. Another experience I speak of has to do with controlling the weather. There are credible witnesses. I wanted this book to be fun, enlightening & as unique as its author. |

Alternative Science $9.93 In this compelling tour through the world of anomalous research, Richard Milton makes clear what the scientific establishment takes pains to deny: plenty of hard experimental evidence already exists for such things as cold fusion, paranormal phenomena, bioenergy, and the effectiveness of alternative medicine. Because these subjects and those who dare to investigate them are continually denied legitimacy by what can only be called the paradigm police, the public is led to believe that all claims made about such topics are completely groundless. With humor and an eye for the telling detail, the author describes many instances when the defenders of scientific orthodoxy acted with unscientific rigidity in the face of the evidence. Faraday, Roentgen, Edison, and even the Wright Brothers were thought to be charlatans by their contemporaries. Taking the broad view of the way science is done, Milton discusses the forces at work in the marginalization of unorthodox research, and makes the reader wonder if there is not something fundamentally wrong with the way that science is currently being practiced.? |

An Introduction to the Psychology of Paranormal Belief and Experience $35 When someone admits to strange experiences, whether witnessing an unidentified object hovering in the sky, having telepathic hunches, or seeing angels or ghosts, those who hear the story almost always deride the claim as a product of mistaken perception, drunkenness, stupidity, or even mental illness. Though these unsympathetic, psychological explanations remain the most popular response to claims of the supernatural, those who use them often have little understanding of what these psychological solutions actually entail. This study offers a balanced and accessible analysis of various explanations for the paranormal. By offering insight into how these theories are applied, and at times misapplied, to this intriguing field of enquiry, the work clarifies the relationship between the field of psychology and the supernatural.] |
