King Hell

Did king Henry go to hell for breaking away from the catholic church?
What about the people who were fotced to worship the church of england?
Forced*
No, The Roman Catholic Church was very corrupt. I would say that most of England along with Germany and most of northern Europe had all they were willing to take from Rome. There were major theological differences forming between Catholics. The ones who could get out did and the ones who stayed were too close to Headquarters to do anything about it. The vast majority accepted the newly formed faith and were happier under it. When Queen Mary took over the throne in England she put hundreds of Protestants to death for refusing to accept the Roman Catholic Church. After that point England pretty much swore off putting any Catholic on the throne. To be Honest when compared to the newer Forms of Christianity Anglicans and Lutherans seem very Catholic in thinking. The Roman Catholic Church never saved anyone Jesus Christ did.

A Perfect Hell $10.05 It’s 1942 and Hitler’s armies stand astride Europe like a colossus. Germany is winning on every front. This is the story of how one of the world’s first commando units, put together for the invasion of Norway, helped turn the tide in Italy. 1942. When the British generals recommend an audacious plan to parachute a small elite commando unit into Norway in a bid to put Nazi Germany on the defensive, Winston Churchill is intrigued. But Britain, fighting for its life, can’t spare the manpower to participate. So William Lyon MacKenzie King is contacted and asked to commit Canadian troops to the bold plan. King, determined to join Roosevelt and Churchill as an equal leader in the Allied war effort, agrees. One of the world’s first commando units, the First Special Service Force, or FSSF, is assembled from hand-picked soldiers from Canadian and American regiments. Any troops sent into Norway will have to be rugged, self-sufficient, brave, and weather-hardened. Canada has such men in ample supply. The all-volunteer FSSF comprises outdoorsmen — trappers, rangers, prospectors, miners, loggers. Assembled at an isolated base in Helena, Montana, and given only five months to train before the invasion, they are schooled in parachuting, mountain climbing, cross-country skiing, and cold-weather survival. They are taught how to handle explosives, how to operate nearly every field weapon in the American and German arsenals, and how to kill with their bare hands. After the Norway plan is scrapped, the FSSF is dispatched to Italy and given its first test — to seize a key German mountain-top position which had repelled the brunt of the Allied armies for over a month. In a reprise of theaudacity and careful planning that won Vimy Ridge for the Canadians in WWI, the FSSF takes the twin peaks Monte la Difensa and Monte la Remetanea by storming the supposedly unscalable rock face at the rear of the German position, and opens the way through the mountains. Later, the FSS |

A Profane Wit $33.51 Of the glittering, licentious court around King Charles II, John Wilmot the second Earl of Rochester was the most notorious. Simultaneously admired and vilified, he personified the rake-hell. Libertine, profane, promiscuous, he shocked his pious contemporaries with his doubts about religion and his blunt verses that dealt with sex or vicious satiric assaults on the high and mighty of the court. This account of Rochester and his times provides the facts behind his legendary reputation as a rake and his deathbed repentance. However, it also demonstrates that he was a loving if unfaithful husband, a devoted father, a loyal friend, a serious scholar, a social critic, and an aspiring patriot. An Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Rochester, James William Johnson is the author or editor of nine books and many articles treating British and American Literature. |

Fear $0.99 Professor James Lowry doesn’t believe in spirits, or witches, or demons. Not until one gentle spring evening when his hat disappears, along with four hours of his life. Now, the quiet university town of Atworthy is changing?just slightly at first, then faster and more frighteningly each time he tries to remember. Lowry is pursued by a dark, secret evil that is turning his whole world against him while it whispers a warning from the shadows: If you find your hat you’ll find your four hours, and if you find your four hours then you will die! Praised alike by readers and authors such as Ray Bradbury and Stephen King, Fear turned the horror genre in the direction it goes today?one in which the horror is based on everyday realism and could conceivably happen to anyone. L. Ron Hubbard took an ordinary man, in a very ordinary circumstance, and descended him into a completely plausible but extraordinary hell. Why is Fear so powerful? Because it really could happen. |

But they find chaos—there’s a bomb under the chair of Darcy Whitehall, Monk Devane’s boss and the rakish Jamaican owner of Libido, a chain of anything-goes Caribbean resorts. The bomb turns out to be a dud, but someone is putting the squeeze on Darcy Whitehall, and Monk DeVane enlists Zack to help protect his employer. When Zack arrives in Jamaica things quickly go to hell—more bombs (this time, for real), gnarly Jamaican politics, and the kinky diversions at Libido, where the prime spectator sport is watching guests frolic on the naked flume ride. As if that weren’t enough, Zack’s snooping around puts him in jeopardy with Freddie Arzghanian, king of the Caribbean money launderers. Suspenseful, laugh-out-loud funny, and with larger-than-life characters, Jamaica Me Dead is Bob Morris at his wicked best. |
