Where do you keep your pet mice while cleaning the cage?
This week, I bought three pet mice – the sweetest things you’ve seen. Today, I decided it was time to change their bedding, and faced a problem – how to prevent them from escaping while they’re not in the cage?
I somehow managed it using an empty flower pot, but there were two major drawbacks to this method: first, I plan to plant a calathea in this very pot, so it won’t be available next week, and second, they found out that they can jump to the rim of the 25 cm high pot, and I had to guard them the whole time.
So please give me some advice, where to keep them? They aren’t tame yet and I’m afraid that I won’t be able to catch them for days if they escape.
You can either get another (spare) cage or a small pet carrier for when and if they need to be separated at any time as well.
