Romance Books Lot

What are great lesbian romance books?
I read a lot of romance books such as Patricia Cabot’s An Improper Proposal, and A Little Scandal. I don’t want straight up erotic stories where sex is the main component of the plot. I want a real novel where the main characters are lesbians. If there are erotic scenes that’s better. Basically, I want the Pride and Prejudice of Lesbians.
PS: I also love historical fiction. but not sci-fi or fantasy.

Wild at Heart [VHS] $9.99 David Lynch’s 1990 Wild at Heart is an utterly random and ugly experience with pockets of startling imagery and inspired set pieces. Much Ado About Nothing $6.46 Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is a vigorous and imaginative work, cheerful and accessible for everyone. Poe Von Page delights with a crew sailing the solar winds of space, in unusual service to their new captain in Mutiny on the Danika Blue. Killing Harry $15.95 This story starts out mildly enough; a common place love story as one would expect in everyday real life. The reader gets to know ordinary people in ordinary circumstances and is given time to become comfortable and familiar with the characters – enough to develop a sense of self-identification and a it-couldn’t-happen-to-me, type of attitude. But the unthinkable does begin to happen and other-wise fairytale romantic lives begin to disintegrate. The first one hundred pages or so which could have been called ‘book 1′ or a ‘story before a story’, are pure romance although, certainly not of the ‘Mills and Boon’ variety. This is true-to-life stuff with blow by blow descriptions and graphic love scenes that leave nothing to the imagination – so be warned. It is not until well into the book that the central story begins to unfold and what is a strong, complex and very original plot begins to take shape. Architects and Interior Designers will enjoy ‘Killing Harry’, and find a lot to identify with. Because of the long romantic prelude, women tend to enjoy this story more so than men although once the plot gets rolling, anyone will have difficulty putting it down. Definitely good reading best saved for bed-time – adults only. From the Publisher Harry Brown was a successful San Francisco architect with all the associated trappings: luxurious house, exotic car and envious life style. But Harry was alone … until one day the beautiful interior designer, Eva Avenska, comes into his life and their unique love story begins; a love that we might all dream of one day experiencing. But this is just the beginning of their story which twists and turns like a rocky mountain road beyond their control, into a thrilling adventure of tragedy, deceit and manipulation; risking life and death and testing that love to its limits. Lurking just below the surface of this story is another subtle story: a man and a woman’s psychological s |

The Unyielding Clamor of the Night $0.01 A mesmerizing novel about the brutal and lasting effects of poverty and violence. Arun, a young man of privileged background, leaves his home in the prosperous north of his Southeast Asian island nation to teach in the devastated south, where a civil war between the military and rebel insurgents profoundly affects daily life. Idealistic and driven by a need to give meaning to his life, Arun relinquishes the trappings of wealth to dedicate himself to improving the lot of the 2 percenters, as the country’s southern population is called. Over the course of several months he befriends some of the local people–Jaisaram, the local butcher, and his daughter Anjani, who reads to her father from romance novels; Kumarsingh, a go-getting entrepreneur; Seth, an American-trained army captain stationed at the local base; and various pupils. In Omeara, however, nothing is as it seems; everyone has secrets and truth is elusive. At the village school, attendance is meager and irregular. The only students who attend are those who, damaged by the conflict, are incapable of working in the fields. Surrounded by poverty and the constant threat of violence, Arun’s optimism is eventually depleted and frustration with educating the village’s schoolchildren overwhelms him. When violence finally touches him personally, he is forced to confront basic truths about his friends, his family, his country and, most wrenchingly, himself. |
