WTF with the world series ball???
hey, im a redsox fan, but i am not cutting Papelbon any slack. the 2007 world series ball is just as important as the 2004 world series ball. idc how good papelbon is, im furious. and why did ‘tek give it to him? give it to someone who deserves it! sure papelbon didnt allow a run the whole postseason, but the front office, theo, terry or just the team in general should get it. if doug mientkiewicz did this with the 2004 bball, he’d be as bad as bill buckner. do you think papelbon will lose any respect because of this? i think he should.
I can’t believe Papelbon’s dog ate the world series ball.
He lost my respect…. how could a person do that!
I would have had the ball in a case instead of out on the kitchen table

The Final Countdown (Widescreen Edition) $9.39 With a tantalizing “what-if?” scenario and a respectable cast of Hollywood veterans, The Final Countdown plays like a grand-scale episode of The Twilight Zone. It’s really no more than that, and time-travel movies have grown far more sophisticated since this popular 1980 release, but there’s still some life remaining in the movie’s basic premise: What if a modern-era Navy aircraft carrier–in this… |

Cal-Q-Tek 2000 Calculator Watch $16.99 Remember the old days? We didnt have iPhones or BlackBerries. Heck, we didn’t even have the internet. We had digital watches and man were they awesome. No more figuring out the time by deciphering the hour and minute hands. No more looking at a calendar to figure out the date. But just when we thought that we’d seen it all, they added a calculator and shocked the world. The Cal-Q-Tek 2000 is a tribute to the ultimate old school geek accessory. It doesn’t store phone numbers. It doesn’t play mp3s. It doesn’t even illuminate in the dark. What it does is tell the time and calculate math problems. Plain, simple and blissfully, intentionally outdated. Vinyl strap with plastic casing. Fits most adult wrists. |

Indigenous Knowledge, Ecology, and Evolutionary Biology $125 Indigenous ways of understanding and interacting with the natural world are characterized as Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), which derives from emphasizing relationships and connections among species. This book examines TEK and its strengths in relation to Western ecological knowledge and evolutionary philosophy. Pierotti takes a look at the scientific basis of this approach, focusing on different concepts of communities and connections among living entities, the importance of understanding the meaning of relatedness in both spiritual and biological creation, and a careful comparison with evolutionary ecology. The text examines the themes and principles informing this knowledge, and offers a look at the complexities of conducting research from an indigenous perspective. |

Traditional Ecological Knowledge And Natural Resource Management $20 Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Natural Resource Management examines how traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) is taught and practiced today among Native communities. Of special interest is the complex relationship between indigenous ecological practices and other ways of interacting with the environment, particularly regional and national programs of natural resource management.Focusing primarily on the northwest coast of North America, scholars look at the challenges and opportunities confronting the local practice of indigenous ecological knowledge in a range of communities, including the Tsimshian, the Nisga a, the Tlingit, the Gitksan, the Kwagult, the Sto: lo, and the northern Dene in the Yukon. The experts consider how traditional knowledge is taught and learned and address the cultural importance of different subsistence practices using natural elements such as seaweed (Gitga a), pine mushrooms (Tsimshian), and salmon (Tlingit). Several contributors discuss the extent to which national and regional programs of resource management need to include models of TEK in their planning and execution. This volume highlights the different ways of seeing and engaging with the natural world and underscores the need to acknowledge and honor the ways that indigenous peoples have done so for generations. |
